About us

Welcome!

Church

It’s a small word, but it can mean many different things to different people. For some, it carries happy memories such as weddings and christenings. Others feel sad as they remember funerals, or angry as they think of scandals. Sometimes, it means absolutely nothing.

A Joyful Community

Here at ReCentre Community Church we want to point people to Jesus, the one who can give us life to the full. When you discover who he really is, what he’s done and what that means, church becomes a joyful place that can fill you with hope.

Through The Highs and Lows of Life

Church is about people, not just buildings and meetings. That’s why we want to be a welcoming and caring community that shares the realities of life together. Through our weekly worship services (with time to relax and chat) and midweek drop-ins, we love to support each other on our journeys of faith.

What Now?

Follow us on your favourite social channels to keep up to date with what we’re up to. We share regular content that will help you understand more about us and what we believe.

Even better, call in to one of our in-person services or events! And don’t worry: coming along doesn’t mean you have to join or make any sort of commitment.

We currently meet every
Sunday at 5pm at 3 Mail Coach Road. Check out our FAQs below to find out what happens.

FAQs: What Can I Expect at Worship Services?

When and where do worship services happen?

Our main weekly services take place on Sunday evenings at 5pm. They happen in the downstairs space of our building at 3 Mail Coach Road. This room is set up in a cosy, home-like way. A booking system is in place to keep numbers within COVID-19 guidelines.

How long do they last?

Services last approximately one hour. We also set aside some time at the end to relax and chat together. Please don’t worry if you arrive late, or have to leave early.

What exactly happens at a worship service?

Each service follows a simple structure including prayer, singing and reading and learning from the Bible. We don’t expect you to join in if you don’t feel comfortable. Feel free to participate as much or as little as you wish. In fact, if you just want to watch, that’s fine with us!

Can I bring my children? What if they are very young?

All ages are welcome at ReCentre Community Church and a number of children currently attend. We want kids to feel comfortable and our services include a special section for them.

In the near future, we hope to provide a dedicated children’s programme during our services. You’re welcome to bring along some favourite toys or books.

We understand young children are active, so please don’t panic if they wander, chat or cry during the service! Remember: “If you don’t hear crying, the church is dying!”

However, if you do want to leave with your child for any reason, you’re welcome to use our upstairs room. Toilet facilities are also available.

NB.
All adults working with children are Garda vetted and our church operates under the Safeguarding Trust child protection programme of the Church of Ireland.

Am I expected to pay anything?

No. Regular attenders often choose to give to the work of the church but it’s not required. As a registered charity, we give clear reports about how all money is being spent.
